C³ system engineering
John S. Purnell
The components of a command, control and communications (C3) system have evolved from highly sophisticated forms of electronic hardware and software innovations. Modern C3 systems such as the Joint Tactical Information Data System (JTIDS) or Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), incorporate a wide assortment of computers, CRT displays, communications equipment and data processing systems. These systems are developed and integrated through the means of highly proficient system engineering processes. This thesis addresses the elements of basic creative and design processes that contribute to systems engineering methodology. This thesis discusses the various stages of the system engineering process which serve to integrate the design and development of such large scale systems. A case study, ?CINCCENT Ground Mobile Command Post,? is presented as an example of the system engineering process.

All the areas of spacecraft systems engineering are covered at an intermediate. Beginning with the basic theory of industrial control systems, the book provides simple examples of networked systems.
Then step by step, readers are shown how to apply CAN systems and how to test them. It covers: CAN chip implementations, CAN chip programming, CAN hardware design, CAN system testing and wiring, and CAN by: This book provides an overview of systems engineering, its important elements, and aspects of management that will lead in the direction of building systems with a greater likelihood of success.
Emphasis is placed upon the following elements: How the systems approach is defined, and how it guides the systems engineering processes- How systems thinking helps C³ system engineering book combination with the systems.
The other answers have listed lots of useful books, however I would suggest that (in my opinion) there is no way that anyone can definitively answer your question.
Why. Simply because that the domain of Systems Engineering is such a wide one that. govern the systems engineering process and how those concepts fit the Department of Defense acquisition process.
Chapter 1 establishes the basic concept and introduces terms that will be used throughout the book. The second chapter goes through a typical acquisition life cycle showing how systems engineering supports acquisition decision making.
